Poker Cards Collective

poker

When I was about 6 years old, I created my own little collection of playing cards. I invented my own game play and I called it “Risk” based on the original game. These cards became an instant hit among my friends back then. Now at 29, I feel that its time to revisit the idea. As I kept thinking about it and about the state of technology now and how vastly different it is from my childhood days, I began to have a certain idea. Why not let this be a collective project.

I am going to supply the vector template for the Poker Cards and hope that artists would download it and create their own versions and then submit them to me so they can be featured on the blog.

So here it is:

Download the Vector template

Once you are done creating your cards you can share a PDF version under 500K here or you can e-mail me a link and i will share it here on the blog.

Waterpixel Studios

waterpixel

Back when I was in college, I teamed up with a very dear friend to start a small studio. We bought the name Waterpixel Studios in hopes that we will do collective commercial and personal work through it. Unfortunately the story didn’t end up that way. However, we still own the name and I have decided to give the website a much needed update. Now don’t be fooled, its not that much but I am really thinking about making something out of Waterpixel Studios some day. Dave are you with me man?

Iraq : Tears. Smiles. Hopes.

Iraq: Tears, Smiles and Hopes

I have finally decided to design a series of small posters that I am calling “Iraq : Tears. Smiles. Hopes.” I am dedicating these posters to Iraq and the Iraqi people everywhere. In doing so I hope to introduce the graphic design and visual communication style of our culture to the world using this new era of electronic communications through the web. Continue reading →

The Power of Design in the Middle East

Today I remembered the TV ads that I saw for the last Iraqi Election. I remember being amazed by how well they were crafted and executed. So I went online and started searching for the source and after a painful and long search I stumbled upon the organization that made it happen. Its called “Future Iraq Assembly” with a slogan “One Nation. Promising Future.”
They say they are: Continue reading →
