As I popped the platinum edition of Sleeping Beauty into my DVD player, I remembered how many times I used to watch this animated feature when I was five years old. I have not been drawing or sketching for a while. It feels bad and I think I started to lose some perspective on my creative work. However, I think going back to this awesome habit of drawing all the time can make any artist or designer feel much better about their work. It almost feels like physical exercising but for artists. I am going to start with a drawing of president Obama. Let me know what you think. This is a quickie by the way.

He is an Iraqi calligrapher who was born in Najef in 1944. He left Iraq in 1969 and now lives in France. Mostafa Kawtharani
In the past I have found it really hard to discover that many Arabic graphic designers. However, now with the power of social networking I can easily navigate my way into multiple artist and find more through interlinking. I wanted to highlight one of the first that I have discovered. His name is Mostafa and he is from Beirut, Lebanon and works in Qatar. His work has a very interesting blend of pure Arabic typography and calligraphy mixed with some powerful textured imagery.
