This new addition to my Designers of the Middle East series goes by the name Gray in her online presence and I am not sure what her real name is. However, this young Kuwaiti graphic designer is not shy about showing her amazing ability to blend Arabic calligraphy within colorful environments that are full of images and graphics without losing the powerful form these beautiful letters have. Her designs are full of intricate details and vibrant colors, which shows obvious creative complexity.
In addition to the traditional graphic design, Gray seems to be a huge fan of photo manipulation as well. She uses photos with hand-drawn graphics sometimes and then mesh them together to create surreal and beautiful imagery. Gray’s styles seem to be influenced by modern pop art at times, but then by highly stylized vintage image manipulators such as the well known Eduardo Recife.
For an artist and a designer of this level at this age, we can only wonder how much better is this going to get?
